Sherman's March to the Sea
This plan was drawn out on November 15 to December 21 in 1864. Sherman's troop left Atlanta, Georgia in order to capture Savannah. Sherman's forces destroyed many military targets along the way. The result of this campaign was devastating for the Confederacy, as there were an estimated $100 million worth of destruction, 300 miles of railroads wrecked, and 4,000 mules, 5,000 horses, and 13,000 heads of cattle seized. This was a major example of William Tecumseh Sherman's war strategy.
